On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of establishment of Východoslovenské elektrárne úč. spol. (VSE) in 1929, later being transformed into a joint-stock company Východoslovenská energetika, Mayor of the City of Košice František Knapík received the representatives of the company RWE AG from Germany and the representatives of the company Východoslovenská energetika a.s. Košice. The German company RWE which had become the owner of a 49 % share of VSE in 2003, was represented by President and CEO, Jürgen Grossmann. VSE was represented by Chairman of the Board of Directors, Norbert Schürmann.
Mayor of Košice appreciated the contribution of VSE to all society activities, including social, cultural and sports life of the community. He also highlighted very good co-operation between VSE and the Technical University in Košice.
President and CEO of RWE, Jürgen Grossmann expressed his satisfaction with good co-operation between VSE and the city, he mentioned plans for futher development of VSE in Košice and in the region and he offered a scholarship to 10 students in technical disciplines of the TU for the following 10 years as an expression of the enlarging on good relations. During his speech he promised cooperation within the project Košice Interface 2013.
