Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the People s Republic of China to Slovakia, H.E. Ziping Gu, visited Košice. He was appointed to the position of the Ambassador in August of this year. During his first visit to Košice he was accompanied by his wife and an officer from the Embassys Department of Protocol. Yesterday he was received by the Vice-Mayor of the city, Mikuláš Čečko, at the premises of the historical Town Hall.
The Ambassador considers Košice to be an interesting and competitive city. "Chinese people love travelling. They like to discover smaller and less known places which they find to be attractive destinations. It would be a good opportunity for the city and the whole region, however, the visitors need to be well informed about what there is to discover." The Ambassador emphasized the importance of advertising the region as a tourist destination but also in terms of existing investment opportunities. He sees potential cooperation in the area of infrastructure in the region as well as in forestry and agriculture. The Ambassador also offered to help make Kosice visible in his country.
